We see patients by appointment. Online booking is open 24 hours, and you can also book by phone.
If you have not booked, we may still be able to see you, depending on how the day is going.
Booking ahead is the surest way to avoid a wait, so we do recommend it.
The steps for a first visit are set out under Your first visit.
The doctor will advise on the interval, based on your treatment and how things are going.
Most people come in about once a month.
BMI is one guide, but we do not decide on it alone. The doctor weighs up your body composition, blood test results, daily life and how things have gone so far. You are welcome to come even if your numbers do not reach the usual thresholds. On the other hand, we do not prescribe these medicines for cosmetic weight loss to people whose weight is within or below the normal range.
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m) ÷ height (m) / Target weight = height (m) × height (m) × 22
It depends on the medicines you take and the conditions you have — for safety reasons, treatment may not be advisable.
Before starting treatment we check your health medically and treat under the supervision of a specialist. The doctor decides on the basis of the questionnaire, the examination and your blood test results.
If you are currently being treated for anything, please bring your medication record book when you come.
For safety reasons we cannot treat anyone to whom any of the following applies.
No. We cannot treat anyone who is pregnant, within three months of giving birth (including after a termination or miscarriage), or breastfeeding. If you are planning a pregnancy, please tell us at the consultation.
The most common are digestive symptoms — discomfort in the upper abdomen, constipation, nausea and diarrhoea. These are most likely when you first start and when the dose is increased, and usually settle with time. More rarely, serious problems such as acute pancreatitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis, hypoglycaemia or an allergic reaction can occur. There is more detail under Before you start treatment.
No. We never hand over medicine without a consultation.
Our care is built on a doctor overseeing everything, from deciding whether treatment is appropriate through to following up on how it is going.
Continuing treatment without checking how your health is changing is not something we consider safe.
When you stop the medicine it no longer curbs your appetite, so weight can come back. How much varies from person to person. Diet and exercise are what keep that regain as small as possible. If your weight does come back after stopping, treatment can be restarted after careful consideration of whether it is needed.
No. All care at our clinic is self-pay, which means it falls outside the public health insurance system.
Prices are listed under Medicines & Fees.
In addition to cash, we accept the following.
Medicines cannot be returned or refunded once they have been dispensed.
Even self-pay care can qualify for Japan’s medical expenses deduction, as long as it is treatment for a medical purpose.
Whether it applies in your case is decided by the tax office. Please keep your receipts somewhere safe.
